Simply Recruitment are seeking 10 experienced Welders to join a major project based in Cumbria. This role will involve a combination of TIG and Flux core welding on carbon and stainless steel materials. Candidates must demonstrate a high level of skill, precision, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out TIG welding on carbon and stainless steel pipework and components
- Perform Flux Core welding to required specifications
- Complete buttwelds and fillet welds to a high standard
- Work from engineering drawings and approved welding procedures
- Ensure all welds meet required quality standards, including inspection and testing criteria
- Maintain a safe working environment in line with site health & safety regulations
- Work collaboratively with other trades and site personnel
TESTING
- For semi-automatic FCAW process, welder to complete plate butt weld with backing in 316L stainless steel, 15mm thk, in PC position.
- For manual TIG process, welder to complete 4 Sch 80 single sided pipe butt weld in 316L stainless steel in PH or H-L045 position.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in TIG and Flux Core welding
- Experience working with both carbon and stainless steel
- Ability to produce high-quality buttwelds and fillet welds
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong understanding of welding safety standards and procedures
- Valid CCNSG Safety Passport or CSCS Card (required for site access)
- Relevant welding certifications (in date preferred)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work to project deadlines
DESIRABLE
- Previous experience on large-scale industrial or construction projects
- Experience working under NAECI / Blue Book agreements
- Coded welding experience
PAY RATES (PAYE NAECI Grade 5)
- Basic Rate: £24.22 per hour (£26.59 with IBA uplift)
- Overtime A: £33.91 per hour (£36.28 with IBA uplift)
- Overtime B: £43.59 per hour (£45.96 with IBA uplift)
- IBA Bonus: £2.37 per hour
- Lodge Allowance: £50.81 per day
