We are seeking an experienced and motivated Skilled Welder/Fabricator/Plater to join a well-established engineering team working within the electro-mechanical and power generation sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served tradesperson who takes pride in producing high-quality fabrication and welding work and enjoys working as part of a skilled workshop and site-based team.
Key Responsibilities
- Welding aluminium, copper and steel using TIG and MIG processes
- Fabricating and welding assemblies to a high standard from engineering drawings
- Passing coded weld tests in all positions up to 6G
- Reading and interpreting technical and engineering drawings
- Using hand tools, grinders, drills and other workshop equipment safely and effectively
- Assisting other skilled tradespeople as required
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Carrying out general maintenance activities when required
- Following all health and safety procedures, site rules and best practice guidelines
- Reporting workload, issues and safety concerns to supervisors
- Assisting with documentation, risk assessments and related paperwork
Candidate Requirements
- Basic English and Maths qualifications (minimum GCSE Grade C / Level 4 or equivalent)
- Time-served status as a Welder/Fabricator
- The ability to work directly from engineering drawings
- A minimum of 5 years' welding and fabrication experience
- A strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
