Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen as part of a rapidly developing convenience food-to-go manufacturer due to the fast organic growth of the business. The company is a private family-owned food-to-go manufacturer in London supplying retail clients and foodservice operators with a range of chilled ready to eat products. Simply Lunch is hiring a Senior Process Technologist to join our dynamic NPD team and play a key role in bringing new products to life. You\’ll lead factory trials, optimise processes, and ensure smooth handovers to production – all while keeping food safety, efficiency, and market excellence at the heart of everything you do. Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the Trial phase within the Critical Path, maintaining and improving systems and ensuring accurate documentation in line with internal procedures.
- Lead product trials by providing clear, actionable instructions to the Operations team, ensuring smooth execution and feedback collection.
- Prepare and present key documentation for trial execution and project handover to Operations.
- Collaborate closely with the Technical team, ensuring new raw materials are compliant with food safety standards and codes are accurately generated.
- Offer hands-on support across the NPD and Specification Technologist teams, promoting a team-oriented approach and sharing responsibilities during busy periods.
- Help drive a high-performance culture throughout the product development process.
- Build trust and strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders across projects.
- Support Chefs and NPD Managers in translating briefs into commercially viable, outstanding food-to-go products aligned with operational capabilities.
- Maintain a strong awareness of Food-to-Go market trends, ensuring Simply Lunch remains ahead of competitors with an efficient and market-relevant product range.
- Participate in regular benchmarking and gap analysis activities to ensure our offering fills market gaps and sets industry standards.
- Build deep product and process knowledge to provide informed, efficient support during all phases of product development.
