Jobsworth Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a busy Fleet Services team within the City of Wolverhampton Council.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced technician to work on a varied fleet of commercial vehicles, mobile plant and specialist equipment, carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs.
What you'll be doing:
- Servicing, inspecting and repairing commercial vehicles and mobile plant
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, transmission, fuel and hydraulic faults
- Carrying out routine roadworthiness inspections
- Attending breakdowns and completing on-site repairs
- Assisting with vehicle recovery
- Completing job cards, inspection reports and paperwork
- Working with specialist contractors and vehicle users
- Refurbishing specialist lifting equipment
- Supporting apprentices and less experienced technicians
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician
- Experience with on-site repairs and vehicle recovery
- Good knowledge of a broad range of vehicles and equipment
- City & Guilds Level 2 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
- Euro 6 engine/component training
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- LGV experience
- Level 3 qualification
- Electrical/hydraulic diagnostics
- Welding
- MOT Class 4 & 7
- Cat C licence and lifting equipment/LOLER experience
£18.85 per hour
