- We are currently recruiting for a
Section Leader - Licensing to join a well-established licensing team based in Wolverhampton.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced licensing, regulatory or local government professional looking to take on a leadership role within a busy department.
You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Licensing Section, ensuring applications are processed efficiently, legislation is adhered to, and high standards of customer service are maintained.
The successful candidate will supervise a team, support service delivery, monitor performance, prepare reports and liaise with a range of stakeholders including elected members, external organisations and members of the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the Licensing Section.
- Support and supervise staff, ensuring workloads are distributed effectively.
- Oversee licence applications, registrations and associated administration.
- Ensure compliance with relevant licensing legislation, policies and procedures.
- Prepare reports, correspondence and committee documentation.
- Attend meetings, hearings and court proceedings where required.
- Monitor service performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the Service Lead with operational management and service development.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with training, coaching and development of team members.
Requirements
- Previous experience within Licensing, Regulatory Services, Public Protection or a Local Authority environment.
