Section Leader - Licensing

Wolverhampton | Temporary Assignment | £22.85 per hour | Monday to Friday, 7:45am - 1:45pm

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Section Leader - Licensing to join a busy local authority team in Wolverhampton.

This role would suit a strong manager with experience within Licensing, Regulatory Services, Public Protection or a Local Government environment. You will be responsible for leading a team, overseeing licensing processes, ensuring legislative compliance, and supporting the delivery of an efficient and customer-focused service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Licensing Section
• Lead, motivate and support a team of licensing professionals
• Oversee licence applications, registrations and related administration
• Ensure compliance with licensing legislation, policies and procedures
• Prepare reports, correspondence and committee documentation
• Attend meetings, hearings and court proceedings when required
• Monitor team performance and drive service improvements
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience within Licensing, Regulatory Services, Public Protection or Local Government
• Proven supervisory or management experience
• Strong knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills
• Ability to manage workloads, priorities and deadlines effectively
• Confident leader with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
