Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (12-hour shifts, including weekends)

The Role

You’ll play a key role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the transport operation, working closely with drivers, warehouse teams and customers to deliver an exceptional service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and allocating daily vehicle routes.
  • Monitoring live transport movements and responding to delays or operational issues.
  • Liaising with drivers, customers and warehouse teams to ensure smooth communication.
  • Ensuring compliance with Driver Hours regulations, Working Time Directive (WTD) and transport legislation.
  • Updating transport management systems and maintaining accurate planning records.
  • Managing vehicle utilisation to maximise efficiency.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the transport department.
  • Assisting with the day-to-day running of a busy transport office.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Transport Planner, Transport Coordinator or within a busy logistics operation.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK road networks and geographical planning.
  • A good understanding of Driver Hours legislation and the Working Time Directive.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and transport management systems.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and make effective decisions.
  • A flexible approach and willingness to work a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, including weekends.
