Job Type: Part-Time | Temp to perm

Hours: 18 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday | 9:30am - 3:30pm

Breaks: 30-minute unpaid lunch break each working day

Paid Hours: 16.5 hours per week

Join a Supportive Finance Team

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Accounts Assistant to join a busy and supportive finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a basic understanding of Sage 50 or other accounting software who is looking to develop their accounts knowledge and gain valuable experience within a finance environment. Full training will be provided for the right candidate, so attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn are just as important as previous experience.

The Role

  • Processing purchase and sales invoices using Sage.
  • Maintaining accurate purchase and sales ledgers.
  • Checking supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Preparing and sending customer statements.
  • Supporting credit control activities and following up outstanding queries.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls and handling customer and supplier enquiries professionally.
  • Taking accurate messages and ensuring queries are dealt with efficiently.
  • Assisting with customer claims and resolving basic account queries.
  • Providing general administrative support to the operations team.
  • Supporting the wider business with day-to-day finance and office duties.

About You

  • Have a basic understanding of Sage 50 or another accounting system.
  • Be organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be confident speaking with customers and suppliers.
  • Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Be keen to develop their accounting skills within a supportive environment.
