About the Role
Jobsworth Recruitment are looking for a reliable Assembly Operative to join our client based in Dudley. You'll be building and assembling components and finished products to a high standard, working on a busy but well-organised shop floor. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who's confident using tools and likes seeing a finished product at the end of the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and follow assembly drawings, work instructions, and BOMs
- Assemble products and sub-assemblies using hand tools and power tools
- Operate drills, screwdrivers, impact wrenches, rivet guns, and other workshop tools safely
- Check work for quality and report any defects or issues
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with H&S procedures
- Meet daily production targets and support team goals
- Support stock control and report material shortages
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience using hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing, workshop, or trade environment
- Ability to read basic drawings and work to specifications
- Good attention to detail and quality focus
- Comfortable working on your feet and doing repetitive tasks
- Team player with good communication skills
Desirable:
- Previous experience as an Assembly Operative, Fitter, or in engineering/manufacturing
- Knowledge of 5S and Lean manufacturing principles
