Timber Sales Manager

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Bonus + Benefits

A leading distributor within the timber, hardwood and panel products sector is seeking an experienced Timber Sales Manager to lead a successful internal sales function and drive continued commercial growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional with strong leadership experience and a background in timber, builders merchants, hardwoods, sheet materials or related construction products.
The Role
As Timber Sales Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a busy sales team, ensuring revenue and margin targets are achieved while maintaining exceptional customer service levels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching and developing an established sales team
- Driving sales performance and profitability across timber product ranges
- Building and maintaining key customer relationships
- Identifying new business opportunities and market growth areas
- Managing stock profiles in line with customer demand
- Monitoring sales activity, margins and commercial performance
- Producing reports and analysing market trends
- Working closely with senior management to implement growth strategies
The Candidate
The successful applicant will have:
- Previous experience in a Sales Manager, Branch Manager or Commercial Manager role
- Strong knowledge of timber, hardwood, sheet materials or related building products
- A proven track record of achieving sales and margin targets
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation abilities
- The ability to build long-term customer relationships
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
