SENDCo – Specialist SEMH/SEND Provision
Location: Halifax area, West Yorkshire
Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 per year, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time, Permanent, Term-time (39 weeks + 6 weeks holiday)
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier for the right candidate)

Simply Education is recruiting on behalf of a therapeutic SEMH/SEND provision in the Halifax area. This setting supports pupils aged 7-18, with a focus on trauma-informed practice and personalised interventions, including Lego Therapy, Drawing & Talking, and Speech & Language therapy, to nurture emotional regulation, self-confidence, and communication skills.

The Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed professional to join us as SENDCo, overseeing the SEND provision and driving inclusion across the setting. You will lead the delivery of interventions, quality assurance, and development of SEND strategies, while providing guidance to staff, parents, and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and co-ordinate the SEND provision, ensuring high-quality support for all pupils

  • Complete Annual Reviews, Interim Reviews, and Emergency Reviews of EHCPs in line with statutory guidance

  • Advise on the use of resources and deployment of staff to meet pupils\’ needs effectively

  • Promote inclusion and ensure access to the curriculum for all pupils

  • Lead on interventions to support emotional regulation, SEMH development, and learning outcomes

  • Quality assurance of Teaching and Learning with a focus on SEND provision

  • Attend and contribute to key meetings, including PEP meetings for looked-after children

  • Develop staff skills and deliver professional guidance on SEND best practice

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Accredited SENDCo qualification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)

  • Leadership experience with a passion for inclusion and education

  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, frameworks, and therapeutic approaches

  • Emotionally resilient, adaptable, and committed to safeguarding and student welfare

  • Able to manage SEND provision effectively in partnership with senior leadership
