Job Description
KS2 SEN Teacher – Specialist SEMH/SEND Provision
Location: Halifax area, West Yorkshire
Salary: £27,519 – £43,862 per year, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time, Permanent, Term-time (39 weeks + 6 weeks holiday)
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier for the right candidate)
Simply Education is recruiting for a KS2 SEN Teacher to join a therapeutic SEMH/SEND provision in the Halifax area. This setting supports pupils aged 7-11 and focuses on trauma-informed, personalised interventions, including Lego Therapy, Drawing & Talking, and Speech & Language therapy, to develop self-regulation, communication skills, and confidence.
The Role:
You will support the oversight of the KS2 curriculum while delivering high-quality teaching to pupils with SEMH/SEND needs. Working with small groups and individual students, you will help them achieve their potential and develop key life and learning skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons for KS2 pupils, supporting individual and small group needs

Prepare teaching materials, take registers, and produce reports on pupil progress

Help students develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning

Manage behaviour and support pupils in regulating emotions

Communicate with parents and carers about student progress

Support the delivery of targeted interventions to meet pupils' SEMH/SEND needs
Ideal Candidate Profile:

Committed and passionate about supporting students with SEND

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a SEND environment or similar provision

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is advantageous

Emotionally resilient, adaptable, and able to build trusting relationships with vulnerable pupils

Committed to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
