We are currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive school seeking an experienced and motivated Special Educational Needs Coordinator to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed professional who is passionate about ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Work closely with teaching staff, parents, external agencies, and senior leadership teams
- Develop and review EHCPs and support plans
- Monitor student progress and implement effective intervention strategies
- Ensure the school remains compliant with SEND legislation and policies
- Support teachers with strategies to enhance inclusive learning environments
- Always promote safeguarding and student wellbeing
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it)
- Previous SENCO or SEND experience within a school setting
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
