Are you a passionate and resilient teacher looking to make a genuine impact in a therapeutic SEMH environment? Simply Education are working in partnership with a specialist Alternative Provision school in Telford to recruit a dedicated Teacher for a temp-to-perm opportunity. This is a rewarding role for both Primary Teachers and Secondary subject specialists (English, Maths, Science, Humanities, PE, Art, Design Technology, ICT, and more) who are looking to transition into a supportive, relationship-led setting. This provision is built around a strong therapeutic ethos, combining structured academic learning with emotional and behavioural support to help pupils re-engage with education in a meaningful way.
About the Role
As a Teacher, you will work within a multidisciplinary team alongside therapists, pastoral staff, and Teaching Assistants to deliver a holistic and nurturing educational experience. You will benefit from small class sizes (typically 4 pupils) with dedicated TA support, allowing you to provide highly personalised learning tailored to each student's needs. The school follows a mainstream curriculum, offering pathways up to GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications, allowing students to achieve recognised outcomes, making it an ideal opportunity for teachers from mainstream settings to transition into alternative provision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons within your subject specialism or across the primary curriculum
- Adapt teaching to meet individual learning, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Build strong, trusting relationships that support emotional regulation and engagement
- Apply therapeutic approaches such as restorative practice and trauma-informed care
- Support both small group and 1:1 interventions
- Promote resilience, positive behaviour, and coping strategies
- Manage and de-escalate behaviours using calm and reflective approaches
What We're Looking For
- Holds QTS/QTLS or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Has experience in primary education or a subject specialism
- Has an interest in, or willingness to learn, therapy-led and SEMH approaches
- Can confidently adapt a mainstream curriculum for diverse learners
- Builds positive, professional relationships with pupils who may have experienced adversity
- Remains calm, patient, and adaptable in challenging situations
- Is committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice
What We Offer
- Small class sizes with TA support, enabling high-quality, focused teaching
- A supportive, therapeutic school environment
- Ongoing CPD in SEMH, trauma-informed practice, and behaviour support
- A collaborative team of education and therapeutic professionals
- A temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term career progression
- The opportunity to make a lasting difference in young people's lives
