We are currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive school seeking an experienced and motivated Special Educational Needs Coordinator to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed professional who is passionate about ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Work closely with teaching staff, parents, external agencies, and senior leadership teams
  • Develop and review EHCPs and support plans
  • Monitor student progress and implement effective intervention strategies
  • Ensure the school remains compliant with SEND legislation and policies
  • Support teachers with strategies to enhance inclusive learning environments
  • Always promote safeguarding and student wellbeing

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it)
  • Previous SENCO or SEND experience within a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
