We are seeking a proactive, well-organised Design & Technology Technician to join our supportive our school in Princes Risborough.

This is a hands-on role supporting the DT department in delivering high-quality practical lessons across a range of subjects including product design, resistant materials, electronics, and graphics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain tools, equipment, and materials for practical lessons.

  • Support teaching staff during lessons and demonstrations.

  • Ensure the DT workshop complies with health and safety regulations.

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs of machinery (e.g., saws, 3D printers, soldering stations).

  • Order and manage stock, resources, and supplies.

  • Assist with displays, exhibitions, and student project setups.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Good practical/technical skills and experience working in a workshop or similar environment.

  • A clear understanding of health and safety protocols.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organisational skills.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.

  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM, 3D printing, or electronics equipment.

  • Knowledge of COSHH and/or training in workshop safety.
