Behaviour & Pastoral Specialist – Alternative Provision
Location: Old Trafford, Greater Manchester
Salary: £90 – £130 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier for the right candidate)

Simply Education are working exclusively with a highly regarded alternative provision based in Old Trafford that supports students aged 11-16 with complex behavioural, social, and emotional needs. The provision delivers a tailored curriculum with a focus on Functional Skills, therapeutic intervention, and holistic development.

They are now seeking a dynamic and experienced Behaviour & Pastoral Specialist to lead and enhance the pastoral provision across the school. This role is critical in supporting young people who are disengaged from mainstream education and require consistent, trauma-informed care and behaviour support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and implement the provision\’s behaviour and pastoral support strategy

  • Lead on interventions to support students with SEMH, trauma, and adverse experiences

  • Manage and develop behaviour support plans and risk assessments

  • Work closely with teaching staff, support teams, and external professionals

  • Promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and student wellbeing

  • Be a key safeguarding contact within the provision and contribute to multi-agency work

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience in a senior pastoral, behaviour, or safeguarding role within an SEN or AP setting

  • A deep understanding of SEMH, trauma-informed practices, and restorative approaches

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a calm and consistent presence

  • The ability to build trust with young people, families, and professionals

  • Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour, safeguarding, or therapeutic support (desirable)
