Salary: £90 - £110 per day (based on 39 working weeks, dependent on experience)

Simply Education is recruiting on behalf of a therapeutic specialist SEMH/SEND provision in the Halifax area that supports pupils aged 7-18. With a focus on trauma-informed practice and personalised support, this setting employs interventions such as Lego Therapy, Drawing & Talking, and Speech & Language to nurture emotional regulation, self-confidence, and communication skills.
We’re looking for candidates who:
- Have experience working in mainstream and/or SEN educational settings
- Are skilled at delivering targeted interventions
- Have an awareness of phonics instruction
- Are emotionally resilient and can build trust with vulnerable students
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one, small-group, and classroom support for core curriculum and interventions
- Assist with emotional and behavioural regulation strategies
- Help prepare learning materials, monitor progress, and report barriers to learning
- Support phonics delivery and scaffold literacy development
- Liaise with teachers, therapists, parents, and carers
- Contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing activities
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in mainstream or SEN settings
- Understanding of phonics strategies and early literacy instruction
- Training or experience in SEMH, therapeutic, or trauma-informed approaches
- Emotionally strong, adaptable, and empathetic
- Committed to promoting safeguarding and student welfare
