My client is a thriving special school in the London Borough of Hounslow, providing high-quality education for children and young people aged 4-16 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Catering to students with speech, language, and communication needs as well as those with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The Role

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with SEND experience to join our supportive team. As a Teaching you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional learning needs, ensuring they receive the individual attention and encouragement they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons tailored to students with SEND.
  • Work one-to-one and in small groups to assist students with their learning and development.
  • Help implement individual learning plans and provide differentiated support.
  • Assist in managing behaviour positively and in line with school policies.
  • Encourage students\’ independence and confidence in their learning journey.
  • Support with personal care where necessary.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

What We\’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND, particularly Autism and communication difficulties would be an advantage.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt and work flexibly in a fast-paced school environment.
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
