About the Role

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Romford. This is an exciting opportunity to support students aged 11-16 (or 11-18 where applicable) as they progress through their education and develop both academically and personally. Working alongside teachers and the wider pastoral team, you will provide classroom support, deliver targeted interventions, and help students overcome barriers to learning. You will play a key role in promoting student engagement, confidence, and independence while contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment. Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, a recent graduate considering a career in education, or someone with experience working with young people, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons across a range of subject areas.
  • Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning, improve attainment, and build confidence.
  • Provide additional support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
