Role: Teaching Assistant

Salary: £21,000 to £23,000 per annum

Contract: Full time, Permanent

Start: September

We are currently working in partnership with an SEN School in Preston where the needs of the children are the number one priority. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to become a permanent member of their team. This is a rewarding opportunity for the right candidate to make a real difference. About the school:

The school has small class sizes, with no more than 8 pupils per class. Pupils are provided with two pathways: a GCSE route or a functional skills route. Additionally, the school offers vocational qualifications via the Personal Development Programme. The setting caters for students aged 9-16 who have an EHCP in place. Their approach to learning is child-centered, focusing on ensuring all students are prepared with a mix of qualifications and life skills. Students in this setting have communication and behavioral challenges associated with Autism.

The school is seeking a Teaching Assistant who is compassionate, hardworking, organized, and knowledgeable. The ideal candidate should be adaptable, understand EHCPs, and have experience with SEND students. Since students finish earlier than in mainstream schools, time can be spent on planning at the end of each school day.

Key requirements for the Teaching Assistant:

  • Full UK Driving License and access to own transport
  • GCSE in Maths and English, Level 2 or C and above
