Are you a graduate with strong communication skills, excellent behaviour management, and a desire to inspire and support young learners? We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a range of primary and secondary schools in Southend-on-Sea and the surrounding areas. This role is perfect for individuals who are looking for flexible or long-term teaching opportunities, and who are passionate about education. You'll play a vital role in maintaining continuity in the classroom, delivering pre-prepared lessons, managing pupil behaviour, and creating a positive learning environment when regular teachers are absent.

  • General Cover (non-specialist, flexible subject coverage)
  • English
  • Maths
  • Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • Geography
  • History
  • Modern Foreign Languages (French, Spanish, German)

  • Design & Technology

  • Computer Science
  • Business Studies

We also offer placements in Primary Education (EYFS, KS1, KS2).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver set lessons confidently across a range of subjects and year groups
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and professionally
  • Inspire, motivate, and engage pupils in the absence of the class teacher
  • Adapt to different school environments and student needs
  • Report back to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour

Requirements:

  • A degree (essential)
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Passion for teaching and inspiring young people
  • Fully adaptable and confident across different subjects and school settings
  • Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable)
  • A valid DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
