Job Title: Sports Coach (SEMH & SEND Focus) Location: Bury Salary: £90 – £110 per day Contract: Full-time/Part-time opportunities available About the Role: Simply Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Sports Coach to work within schools in Bury, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This rewarding role involves using the power of sport and physical activity to engage, inspire, and develop students, helping to improve their confidence, social skills, and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver high-quality, tailored sports coaching sessions for students with SEMH and SEND. Use sport as a tool to promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and self-esteem. Adapt coaching styles and techniques to support individuals with diverse needs and abilities. Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and support teams to ensure a holistic approach to student development. Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback to staff and parents where necessary. Promote resilience, emotional well-being, and a healthy lifestyle among students. Support students in both individual and group settings.Requirements: Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with SEMH and SEND. A background in sports coaching, physical education, or a related field (e.g., Level 2/3 Coaching Qualification, PE/Sports Degree, or equivalent). Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and inclusive coaching techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A passion for using sport to make a difference in young people's lives. An ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).Desirable: Experience working within a school setting. Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures. First Aid and/or Mental Health First Aid certification.
