About the Role:
We are seeking an exceptional and experienced qualified teacher to take on the role of Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO). The successful candidate will lead and manage the provision of special educational needs support, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and fostering an inclusive environment with high aspirations for students with SEND.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance and Policy Implementation: Ensure that practices align with the SEND Code of Practice (2014) and other relevant statutory requirements. Implement and uphold the SEND Policy, promoting an ethos of inclusion and high aspirations for students with SEND.
- SEND Provision Management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date SEND Profile. Accurately identify SEND needs through rigorous assessment processes. Oversee the SEND Offer, ensuring high-quality targeted interventions that enable students with SEND to make progress.
- Quality First Teaching: Serve as a role model for Quality First Teaching and differentiation. Embed these practices across the institution to enhance teaching and learning for students with SEND.
- Professional Development: In consultation with the Leadership Team, provide a program of professional development related to SEND. Ensure all staff have the knowledge, skills, and understanding.
