Simply Education is looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in young people's lives. We are recruiting for a lovely school in ST5 that provides education for children with SEMH needs. The school believes in helping young people develop vital skills to enable them to be independent, nurturing their pupils to ensure they feel supported and valued. We are looking for someone to join the team who shares these values and is able to get stuck in with the children so that you can go home at the end of a working day and feel accomplished.

This role is a long-term position with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to teachers by assisting with lesson planning, preparation of classroom materials, and implementation of lessons.
  • Work one-on-one or with small groups of students to reinforce learning concepts and provide academic support.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour intervention.
  • Communicate regularly with teachers and parents regarding student development.
  • Create a positive and encouraging learning environment for all students.
  • Build and nurture positive relationships with both staff and children.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting (or have transferable skills such as running a club for young people, coaching a team, or caring for children).
  • Knowledge of child development and various learning needs.
  • Strong communication, patience, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with teachers.
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification would be preferred but not essential.
