Simply Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Vocational Studies Teacher to deliver practical skills training in hair & beauty, bricklaying, painting and decorating or related construction trades. This role is at a post-16 SEMH provision in Doncaster. This will be a full time permanent position starting as soon as possible. This provision is for students who have been or are at risk of permanent exclusion due to their challenging behaviours and for students who require a more specialised setting than a mainstream college.
About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and practical vocational training in hair & beauty, bricklaying, painting and decorating or related construction trades.
- Develop and implement individualised learning plans that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEMH and SEND.
- Create a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes positive behaviour and engagement.
- Provide practical demonstrations and hands-on instruction, ensuring students develop essential skills and knowledge.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
About You:
- Proven experience in hair & beauty, bricklaying, painting and decorating or related construction trades.
- At least two years experience working with students with SEMH and SEND.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support young people.
- Relevant trade qualifications or experience (tutors with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply).
- QTS is advantageous.
