Are you a passionate Primary Teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with Autism and complex learning needs? We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Primary SEN Teachers for a highly regarded specialist SEND school in East London for a September 2026 start.
This welcoming and supportive school caters for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and provides a highly personalised approach to learning. Students are grouped according to their abilities and communication needs, with the majority working below National Curriculum expectations. The school follows a structured pathway model and uses the SCERTS Framework to support communication, emotional regulation and social development.
The Role
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Teach pupils with Autism and additional SEND needs across a range of abilities
- Adapt the Primary Curriculum to support pupils working below age-related expectations
- Work collaboratively with therapists, support staff and senior leaders
- Promote communication, independence and social development through a nurturing and structured approach
- Create an inclusive classroom environment where every pupil can thrive and achieve success
We Are Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong knowledge of the Primary Curriculum
- Experience working with children with SEND, Autism or additional learning needs
- A patient, resilient and positive approach to teaching
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- A genuine passion for inclusive education
Desirable:
- Previous experience within a specialist SEND school
- Knowledge of the SCERTS Framework
- Experience supporting pupils working below Key Stage expectations
- Understanding of Autism-friendly teaching strategies and communication approaches
