A specialist SEN school in Burnley is looking for a Behaviour Mentor / SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and behavioural needs. What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Autism, ADHD and SEMH
  • Working as a Behaviour Mentor, SEN Teaching Assistant and Learning Support Assistant
  • Providing 1:1 support and small group interventions
  • Helping pupils regulate emotions and manage challenging behaviour
  • Encouraging engagement, independence and positive routines
  • Building strong relationships with pupils who need consistency and encouragement
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff
  • Supporting learning both inside and outside the classroom

What the School Is Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or adults with behavioural or additional needs
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Someone who can use their initiative and adapt to different situations
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker or Care Worker is desirable
