We are looking for a caring, reliable and organised Nursery Cook to join one of our partner Nurseries friendly team. You will be responsible for preparing nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0-5 years, ensuring all food is prepared to a high standard while meeting food hygiene regulations and dietary requirements.
The role is Monday - Friday, 7:45am - 1pm. This is a rewarding role where you will play an important part in supporting children's health, wellbeing and development through healthy eating.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children alongside the nursery manager.
- Cater for allergies, intolerances, cultural and medical dietary requirements.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene in line with Food Standards Agency guidelines.
- Monitor stock levels and order food and kitchen supplies as required.
- Ensure food is stored safely and correctly.
- Complete daily cleaning schedules and food safety records.
- Work closely with the nursery team to promote healthy eating habits.
- Maintain a positive and welcoming kitchen environment.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working as a cook, chef or catering assistant (nursery, school or care setting experience is desirable but not essential).
- Holds, or is willing to obtain, a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Has a good understanding of allergens and special dietary requirements.
- Is organised, dependable and able to work independently.
- Enjoys working in an environment that supports young children's wellbeing.
