We are working with an alternative provision based in Bolton who are looking for an English teacher to join their school to cover maternity leave. Pupils in this setting are aged 11-19 and all have an EHCP in place. The school focuses on vocational studies and has amazing facilities for the students to thrive including well equipped kitchens for food technology, woodwork studio and a garage to study to be a mechanic. The school understands that the conventional classroom environment is not in the best interests of the students therefore there is a huge emphasis on vocational and hands on learning opportunities. Role:
This School is seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher to join the team and inspire students to achieve their full potential. This is a full-time contract starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and effective English lessons to students.
Key Responsibilities for the English Teacher:
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality English lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEMH needs
- Differentiating instruction to ensure all students can access the curriculum and achieve their potential
- Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and positive behaviour
- Monitoring and tracking student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help students achieve their goals
- Collaborating with colleagues, support staff, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to student support and development
- Building strong relationships with students, parents, and carers to support the overall well-being and academic progress of each student
Requirements for the English Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching English at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English language and literature
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
