The predicted salary is between 22000 - 25000 Β£ per year.
To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children placed in the nursery. To give support to other staff in the nursery. To implement the daily routine within allocated room. Responsible to Nursery Manager and Room Leader.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Adhering to the Policies and Procedures of the nursery.
- Complying with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation and OFSTED National Standards.
- To contribute to planning and preparation of activities, to meet children's individual needs and ensuring progression for each child.
- To observe and document observations of all children in allocated in the room.
- To keep a regularly updated developmental file for all key children.
- Liaise with and support parents and other family members.
- To be flexible within working practices of the nursery.
- Be prepared to help when needed, including to undertake certain domestic tasks, i.e. preparation of snack, washing up, etc.
- To be involved in and contribute to all out of working hours activities, i.e. monthly staff meetings, training courses, parents evenings, seasonal events, etc.
- Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background.
- Positive management of children's behaviour.
- Preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms and equipment.
- Providing a good role model for Nursery Assistants and students and helping new staff to feel integrated to the team.
- Supervision of snacks, meals and where appropriate preparation of babies bottles or weaning food.
- Ensuring that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing.
- Ensuring children have their nappies changed and they are kept clean throughout the day.
- Recording accidents on an accident form and ensuring the parent is notified.
- Documenting medicinal needs and administering medication.
- Ensure someone known and agreed by the nursery collects the child.
- To respect confidentiality of information received.
- Work as part of a team and develop your role within the team.
- Look upon the nursery as a whole and where your help can be most utilised and be constantly aware of the needs of children.
- To be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to uphold our high standards at all times.
- To take a wide interest in all subject areas and be prepared to further extend industry knowledge via relevant publications and attendance relevant training courses.
- Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the nursery Manager or Owner.
