Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health? Simply Education are currently looking for experienced and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to work at our clients primary/secondary school in the Halewood area.
What you will be doing:
- Establishing good working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
- Provide consistent support to all pupils, responding appropriately to individual pupil needs and including the use of accredited Positive Handling techniques when necessary.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans.
- Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
- Provide minimal clerical/administration support (e.g. photocopying, typing, filing, collecting money, etc).
- Liaise sensitively and effectively with parents/carers as agreed with the teacher within role/responsibility and participate in feedback sessions/meetings with parents under teacher's supervision.
What we're looking for:
- Teaching Assistant Qualification (preferred but not essential).
- Experience working with children with SEMH.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
