Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health? Simply Education are currently looking for experienced and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to work at our clients primary/secondary school in the Halewood area.

What you will be doing:

  • Establishing good working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
  • Provide consistent support to all pupils, responding appropriately to individual pupil needs and including the use of accredited Positive Handling techniques when necessary.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • Provide minimal clerical/administration support (e.g. photocopying, typing, filing, collecting money, etc).
  • Liaise sensitively and effectively with parents/carers as agreed with the teacher within role/responsibility and participate in feedback sessions/meetings with parents under teacher's supervision.

  • Teaching Assistant Qualification (preferred but not essential).
  • Experience working with children with SEMH.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
