Simply Education are supporting Primary Schools in and around the Louth who require additional classroom support in the form of Teaching Assistants on a full and part time basis.

As the Teaching Assistant you will need to have an excellent temperament and patience when working with the young people and be able to build up good rapport and relationships with the learners quickly. The Teaching Assistant will also need to be able to effectively communicate with the class lead and have a strong understanding of Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support teaching and learning activities within the classroom
  • Encourage student participation and understanding through individual attention
  • Implement strategies to manage behaviour and promote engagement
  • Assist with admin tasks like making resources, photocopying, record keeping
  • Supervise students during break times as required
  • Liaise with teachers to gain insight into learning plans
Requirements:
  • Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant at secondary level (supporting ages 11-16)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour strategies
  • Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
  • Flexibility, creativity and a caring, patient approach
  • Commitment to ensuring all students achieve their potential

The ideal candidate will be passionate about nurturing teenage learners and driving positive academic and social outcomes. Previous TA experience in a secondary setting is essential.

This is a term-time position with opportunities for career development and training. Competitive rates of pay commensurate with experience.
