Role Purpose: To deliver high-quality Mathematics teaching to secondary school students in Tunbridge Wells, promoting strong numeracy skills, problem-solving ability, and a positive attitude towards Maths.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4 (with opportunities at KS5 where applicable)
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of learners of varying abilities
  • Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies
  • Contribute to departmental planning, meetings and school activities
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies at all times

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering the Maths curriculum
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching GCSE Maths
  • Ability to teach A-Level Maths
  • Experience working in UK secondary schools
