Simply Education are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Humanities Teacher to join our dedicated teaching team. The successful candidate will be passionate about inspiring students to explore and understand the world around them through subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Education. You will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that encourage critical thinking, debate, and a deep appreciation of cultural and historical contexts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Humanities lessons across the relevant key stages.
  • Create a stimulating learning environment that promotes curiosity, respect, and independent thinking.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities within the Humanities faculty.
  • Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including pastoral responsibilities and extracurricular activities.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in a relevant Humanities subject (e.g., History, Geography, Religious Studies).
  • Proven experience teaching Humanities at secondary level.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Desirable Skills

  • Ability to teach multiple Humanities subjects or a related field.
  • Experience with curriculum development or examination groups (e.g., GCSE, A-Level, IB).
  • A creative approach to integrating cross-curricular themes such as citizenship, global issues, or sustainability.
