Teaching Assistant

Simply Education are delighted to be working with a brand-new specialist secondary school in Horsham to recruit a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

Location: Horsham, West Sussex Salary: £22,996 - £24,568 per annum Contract: Permanent | Full-Time | Term Time Only Hours: 40 hours per week Start Date: September 2026

About the Role

This specialist SEND school supports autistic young people aged 11-16 in a calm and supportive environment with small class sizes and a personalised approach to learning.

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers, therapists and the SENCO to support students both in and out of the classroom.

You'll help with learning, build confidence and encourage independence while also getting involved in outdoor learning, educational visits and other enrichment activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a brand-new school and help create a positive learning environment from day one.

We're looking for someone who

Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEND, or is keen to learn.

Has a genuine interest in supporting autistic young people.

Is patient, reliable and enjoys working as part of a team.

Has good communication and IT skills.

Is committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
