Simply Education is working in partnership with a specialist education setting in Wigan to recruit an experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full-time, long-term supply role starting in September. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and inclusive school environment, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including SEND, SEMH, ASD, and communication difficulties. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, delivering interventions, and helping pupils overcome barriers to education.

The Role

  • Deliver learning activities and interventions to individuals and small groups
  • Support pupils with SEND, SEMH, and additional learning needs
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery, planning, and classroom management
  • Support pupils' academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Help implement EHCP targets and individual support plans
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and attendance
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Has experience working within a school or special educational setting
