We are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Peterborough, supporting students aged 5-19 with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), particularly high-functioning autism. The school welcomes both day pupils and weekly boarders, and offers a nurturing, structured, and inclusive environment.
We are now seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join this dynamic and supportive team.
About the RoleAs a HLTA, you will:
- Support and lead learning activities for individuals and small groups
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and deliver differentiated learning strategies
- Help students access the curriculum and reach their full potential
- Apply your expertise in ASC to support communication, emotional regulation, and social development
- Play an active role in creating a safe and supportive school environment
- HLTA Qualification (or willingness to work towards it)
- GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in both Maths and English
- Proven knowledge, understanding, and experience of working with children and young people with Autism, particularly high-functioning autism
- A broad understanding of teaching strategies for students with ASC
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly to change
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team
