We are supporting a dynamic and supportive SEN school providing alternative provision for students who thrive in a more tailored learning environment. Their mission is to empower young people to reach their full potential, academically, socially, and emotionally. The school prides itself on fostering creativity, resilience, and ambition in all of our learners. This is a full-time role with the role starting as soon as possible or at a given date depending on the right candidate. We are seeking a passionate and innovative Class Teacher to join their dedicated team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on making a real difference in students' lives and is eager to bring fresh ideas into the classroom and beyond. The successful candidate will support learners in achieving their ambitions while promoting a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons to secondary-aged students.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance, promoting students' wellbeing and personal development.
  • Employ creative teaching strategies to engage learners and foster a love of learning.
  • Support the academic and social development of students with special educational needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan, assess, and enhance student learning.
  • Maintain professional communication with staff, students, and parents.
  • Promote school values, including equality, diversity, safeguarding, wellbeing, and British values.
  • Manage classroom time effectively to ensure high-quality learning experiences.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to engage learners and support their ambitions.
  • Passionate about positively impacting students' lives.
  • Teaching Qualification (QTS/QTLS) or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience working in a school environment, preferably secondary education.
  • Understanding of alternative provision and SEN needs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Desirable:

  • Degree in a relevant teaching subject or equivalent for SEN.
  • Specialist teaching qualification.
  • Experience with creative and innovative teaching approaches.
  • Proficiency in English, Maths, and Science (minimum grade 4/C or higher).
