A specialist SEN school in Ellesmere Port is looking for a Behaviour Mentor / SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and behavioural needs. This isn't just a classroom support role – it focuses on building trust, creating consistency and helping young people feel safe enough to learn.
The school has a genuinely supportive team, ongoing SEN training and staff who work together to make a difference every day. There are also weekly extracurricular trips and activities, giving pupils opportunities to build confidence outside the classroom too.

What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), SEMH, Autism and ADHD
- Working as a Behaviour Mentor, SEN Teaching Assistant and Learning Support Assistant
- Providing 1:1 support and small group interventions
- Helping pupils manage emotions and challenging behaviour
- Encouraging engagement, independence and positive routines
- Building strong relationships with students who need consistency and support
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
- Supporting learning both inside and outside the classroom
What The School Is Looking For
- Experience supporting children or adults with behavioural needs or additional needs
- A calm, patient and resilient personality
- Someone who can take initiative and think on their feet
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker or Care Worker experience is desirable
- Someone who genuinely wants to make a difference to young people
