The Role
- Deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 where appropriate
- Plan and implement engaging, creative and challenging schemes of work that inspire students of all abilities
- Use a range of teaching strategies to promote independent learning, practical skills and technical understanding
- Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing effective feedback to support improvement
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Design & Technology curriculum
- Take an active role in extra-curricular activities, enrichment opportunities and school events
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is currently training to achieve it
- Has strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for Design & Technology
- Can teach one or more specialisms, including Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Engineering or Food Technology
- Is committed to inclusive education and raising achievement for all students
- Demonstrates excellent classroom management and positive behaviour strategies
- Is reflective, resilient and eager to engage in professional development
- Works effectively as part of a team and contributes positively to the wider school community
