We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Teacher of Business for a long-term agency placement at a high-performing secondary school based in Lewisham, starting after February half term and continuing until the end of the academic year. The school is part of a well-established and respected multi-academy trust in South East London and is known for its ambitious academic culture, strong behaviour systems, and inclusive ethos. A recent inspection highlighted the school's high expectations, excellent pupil outcomes, and calm, purposeful learning environment.
You will be joining a strong and well-resourced Business department, teaching Business Studies at GCSE and A Level. There may be opportunities to teach Economics, depending on experience. The department places a strong emphasis on subject knowledge, consistency, and preparing students effectively for external examinations.
Responsibilities- Teaching Business Studies across KS4 and KS5
- Planning and delivering lessons aligned with exam board specifications
- Assessing student progress and providing clear, timely feedback
- Preparing students for internal and external assessments
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement
- Contributing positively to departmental collaboration and wider school priorities
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or UK-recognised equivalent)
- A current enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection, with a clear commitment to promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Recent experience teaching Business Studies in a UK secondary school (KS4/KS5)
- Experience teaching Economics is desirable but not essential
Pay: In line with the Teachers' Pay Scale (via agency)
Contract: Fixed-term / long-term agency contract (after February half term to end of academic year)
Location: Lewisham, South East London
