The Role
- As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with secondary-aged pupils who may present with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, emotional regulation difficulties and barriers to learning.
- You will build positive relationships with pupils, provide consistent boundaries and act as a trusted adult and positive role model.
- Providing 1:1 and small-group behaviour and pastoral support.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Supporting pupils with SEMH and emotional regulation.
- Managing challenging behaviour using appropriate de-escalation strategies.
- Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and self-esteem.
- Supporting young people who have experienced or are at risk of exclusion.
- Encouraging pupils to re-engage with education and learning.
- Establishing clear, consistent and positive boundaries.
- Supporting individual behaviour plans and pupil targets.
- Promoting positive attitudes towards education.
- Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals.
- Maintaining a calm, consistent and supportive approach.
