Responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload of residential conveyancing matters focused on leasehold sale and purchases.
- Conducting pre-contract enquiries, title investigations, and advising on covenants, easements and other title issues.
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, surveyors and other third parties to progress transactions to completion.
- Undertaking anti-money laundering checks and complying with regulatory and firm risk procedures.
- Acting on instructions and taking appropriate steps to protect clients' interests and manage risk.
- Drafting and negotiating contract terms and applying relevant law to practical client situations.
- Participating in training, process reviews and system improvements to enhance service delivery.
- Providing cover and support across the conveyancing team when required to maintain service continuity.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Qualified solicitor, licensed conveyancer or significant experience in residential conveyancing.
- Proven experience handling leasehold conveyancing matters.
- Strong client care skills with the ability to communicate complex legal information clearly.
- Excellent attention to detail and a risk-aware approach to work.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office and case management systems; experience in new build conveyancing.
- Familiarity with common conveyancing portals.
- Clear and adaptable communicator able to explain legal points to clients and non-legal colleagues.
