Role Description This full-time, on-site Property Lawyer role is based in Daventry. The Property Lawyer will manage a caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity. Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing contracts, conducting title checks and due diligence, liaising with clients, estate agents, and other parties, and advising on legal issues throughout the transaction. The role involves preparing and completing all necessary documentation, managing exchange and completion processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and lender requirements. The Property Lawyer will contribute to a high standard of client service by communicating clearly, resolving issues promptly, and supporting continuous improvement in processes and systems.
Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor, licensed conveyancer, or legal executive with relevant practicing certificate and proven experience in residential conveyancing.
- Strong knowledge of property law, Land Registry procedures, lender requirements, and regulatory compliance within the conveyancing sector.
- Excellent client care and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly and build effective relationships with clients and partners.
- Solid case management, organization, and time-management abilities, including handling multiple files, meeting deadlines, and maintaining accurate records.
- Comfort with legal and conveyancing technology, digital case management systems, and secure communication tools; willingness to learn new systems.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills for reviewing contracts, titles, search results, and other legal documentation.
- Collaborative working style, with the ability to contribute to a supportive team environment and share best practices.
- Previous experience working with estate agents and lenders is beneficial; experience in a high-volume conveyancing practice is an advantage.
