We insure small businesses and enable big dreams – not just for our customers, but for our people and communities too. With over 1,000,000 active insurance policies, we protect builders, bakers, landlords and more than 1,200 other trades. We’re a technology company as well as one that sells insurance. That means we build, we fail, we learn and we improve. Through our global social impact strategy, called 'The Big Dreams Project’, we're working to help 10,000 small businesses start or grow by 2030.

We are looking for a motivated finance professional to join our London-based FP&A team and support our UK Commercial teams through financial insight and business partnering. In this role, you won’t just be a back-office analyst; you will be at the heart of our decision-making, helping to influence the choices that shape the overall performance and success of Simply Business. We do our homework and share our expertise to drive change across the organisation against both global and in-market strategies.

This role is different from other FP&A positions because we want you to ‘change the score’, not just ‘keep the score’. While you will lead the end-to-end budgeting process, you will also expand your remit into commercial finance, including business case modelling, stress testing, and deal support. You’ll be the ‘go-to’ person for your business area, translating complex data into actionable stories that help our senior leadership team champion the small business cause.

As one of our Senior FP&A Analysts, you’ll:

  • Take full ownership of the month-end process, including reporting, commentary, journals, and managing recharges.
  • Lead the end-to-end budgeting and reforestation process to deliver robust plans aligned with our company strategy.
  • Partner closely with the UK Commercial teams to gain a deep understanding of our business areas and influence strategy using relevant metrics.
  • Research budget variances to identify specific opportunities for improvement and mitigate commercial risks using data led insights to tell the commercial story.
  • Drive intellectual growth.
  • Support the implementation of our new FP&A system to enhance our analytical capabilities and reporting standards.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A fully qualified CIMA, ACCA, or ACA professional with a degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • An expert financial modeller with deep experience in P&L management and analysis.
  • A data-literate storyteller who can translate large data sets into clear conclusions for senior leadership.
  • A strategic communicator who proactively engages with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • An adaptable problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments and handles ambiguity with ease.
  • A continuous improvement champion with a track record of fixing issues and driving change.

We encourage people of all different backgrounds and identities to apply. We are committed to maintaining an inclusive, supportive place for you to be you and do your very best work. By turning complex financial data into the strategic insights we need to grow, you’ll be directly enabling the big dreams of the hundreds of thousands of small businesses who rely on us.
