This is a 14 to 15-month fixed-term contract with high autonomy and impact, responsible for the end-to-end reserving process and direct collaboration with senior leadership to support financial strength and strategic agility.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the full end-to-end reserving process, conduct monthly and quarterly reviews, and assess reserve adequacy.
- Lead the annual profit share process, including accurate calculations and liaison with insurance capacity providers.
- Work closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely actuarial inputs for financial reporting, while maintaining auditable processes.
- Collaborate with the Risk Pricing team to ensure consistency and identify growth opportunities that protect performance.
- Conduct deep-dive claims analysis to identify trends and inform wider business strategy.
- Ensure the reserving function is always “audit ready”, with clear documentation and compliance.
Qualifications
- A qualified actuary (FIA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience in non-life (GI) insurance or reinsurance.
- Significant experience in actuarial reserving and profit share arrangements, with a strong technical and commercial grounding.
- Skilled in R, Python, or SAS and comfortable building and validating actuarial models.
- Proficient in SQL, with the ability to work directly with complex data to drive meaningful insights.
- A strong communicator who can present actuarial findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and focused on ensuring compliance and process integrity.
