What Is the Opportunity? We are looking for a motivated finance professional to join our London-based FP&A team and support our UK Commercial teams through financial insight and business partnering. In this role, you won’t just be a back‑office analyst; you will be at the heart of our decision‑making, helping to influence the choices that shape the overall performance and success of Simply Business. This role is different from other FP&A positions because we want you to ‘change the score’, not just ‘keep the score’. While you will lead the end‑to‑end budgeting process, you will also expand your remit into commercial finance, including business case modelling, stress testing, and deal support.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the month‑end process, including reporting, commentary, journals, and managing recharges.
  • Lead the end‑to‑end budgeting and reforecasting process to deliver robust plans aligned with our company strategy.
  • Partner closely with the UK Commercial teams to gain a deep understanding of our business areas and influence strategy using relevant metrics.
  • Research budget variances to identify specific opportunities for improvement and mitigate commercial risks using data‑led insights to tell the commercial story.
  • Drive intellectual growth.
  • Support the implementation of our new FP&A system to enhance our analytical capabilities and reporting standards.

Qualifications

  • A fully qualified CIMA, ACCA, or ACA professional with a degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • An expert financial modeller with deep experience in P&L management and analysis.
  • A data‑literate storyteller who can translate large data sets into clear conclusions for senior leadership.
  • A strategic communicator who proactively engages with cross‑functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • An adaptable problem solver who thrives in fast‑paced environments and handles ambiguity with ease.
  • A continuous improvement champion with a track record of fixing issues and driving change.

Benefits

  • We offer a great work‑life balance with manageable workloads and flexibility to work hybrid.
  • 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) with the option to buy five additional days.
  • Flexible parental leave: six months full pay to the primary caregiver and four weeks full pay for the secondary caregiver.
  • Life event leave: extra days every two years for major life moments such as moving house or birthdays; two‑week paid sabbatical after five years and four weeks after ten years of service.
  • Private medical insurance through BUPA covering pre‑existing conditions, plus a health cash plan for everyday expenses.
  • Competitive salary based on experience with potential annual bonus based on performance.
  • Access to a dedicated learning platform and mental health support including counseling.
  • Pension match up to five per cent and a tax‑free life assurance with flexible benefit scheme options.
  • Salary sacrifice car scheme for a new, fully insured, maintained car.
  • Flexible benefits scheme to cover critical illness, dental, travel, gym, etc.
