Surbiton, Surrey | Full Time | Salary DOE
Design extraordinary spaces. Build a career, not just bathrooms.
At Simply Bathrooms & Interiors, we don't design catalogue bathrooms.
We create highly bespoke interiors for discerning homeowners across Surrey and London, combining exceptional design with meticulous technical planning and award-winning project delivery. Every project is different, every design is unique, and every detail matters.
We're looking for an exceptional designer to join our growing creative team.
Whether you're already an experienced bathroom designer or come from an architectural, interior or technical design background, we're interested in talented people with outstanding design ability and the ambition to develop into one of the industry's very best.
This isn't a role for someone looking for an easy ride.
It is fast-paced, demanding and incredibly rewarding. You will get full exposure to the technical design process, product costing and profitability, supply chain management and working alongside our builders and installation teams.
You'll be working alongside our Creative Director, helping to design beautiful homes whilst developing the technical and commercial skills to eventually take ownership of your own projects.
What you'll be doing
• Meeting clients and understanding how they live before creating bespoke design solutions.
• Producing high-quality CAD drawings, layouts and presentations.
• Creating mood boards, finishes palettes and furniture concepts.
• Designing bespoke cabinetry and furniture where required.
• Preparing product specifications, quotations and budgets.
• Working closely with suppliers, installers and project managers.
• Supporting projects from initial concept through to installation.
• Managing multiple live projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Developing the confidence to advise, guide and challenge clients where appropriate to achieve the very best design outcome.
Who we're looking for
We're far more interested in talent, intelligence and attitude than simply years of bathroom experience.
You'll ideally have experience in one or more of the following:
• Bathroom Design
• Interior Design
• Architectural Design
• Interior Architecture
• Kitchen Design
• High-end residential design
Essential skills
• Strong CAD capability.
• Experience using software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD and Photoshop.
• Experience with Virtual Worlds is highly advantageous (although training can be provided).
• Excellent technical design ability.
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
• Numerically confident and commercially aware.
• Strong on Excel
• Able to learn quickly and retain technical information.
• Comfortable managing several projects at once.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• A genuine passion for beautiful interiors and thoughtful design.
The type of person who succeeds here
You will probably describe yourself as:
• Meticulous.
• Creative.
• Commercially minded.
• Calm under pressure.
• Highly organised.
• Curious and eager to learn.
• Resilient.
• Someone who takes pride in getting every detail right.
You'll enjoy working in a small business where everyone makes a real impact. There is nowhere to hide—but equally nowhere better to develop your career if you're ambitious.
What makes this role different?
Unlike many showroom design roles, you'll become involved in the complete customer journey.
You'll learn how to:
• Design truly bespoke interiors.
• Develop unique furniture concepts.
• Present and sell creative ideas confidently.
• Manage clients throughout their renovation journey.
• Understand budgeting and commercial decision making.
• Produce detailed technical information for installation teams.
• Work on award-winning residential projects.
As your experience grows, so will your autonomy, responsibility and creative freedom.
