What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting into the Lead Software Developer, the Senior Software Developer is responsible for the design and development of software systems, primarily using Microsoft’s software development platforms including .NET, SQL Server and Azure. You will work with a broad client base, interacting with varied technology across all stages of the SDLC, focusing on web applications and data processing.

Responsibilities include:

• Analysis, design, and development of software systems, liaising with external customers and third party products/services to drive efficiency and innovation.
• Provide technical leadership to the software development team to help drive projects to successful completion.
• Proactively learn, share knowledge, and adopt best practices to improve software quality and lifecycle processes.
• Implement and adhere to relevant IT policies.
• Provide support for new and existing systems.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of business needs to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

Resident in the UK. Clear and confident communication, both verbal and written. Demonstrable experience of developing commercial systems with the following skills:

• C# (.NET Core and .NET Framework)
• APIs; service-oriented architecture; event-driven architecture
• SQL and No-SQL databases
• Azure services (Functions, Storage, Web Apps, API Management, Cosmos DB, Service Bus)
• MS SQL Server with Transact-SQL; Entity Framework ORM
• Web Services – Web-API/REST, SOAP
• SOLID practices; Unit Testing and Test-Driven Development
• Source control (Git); ability to elicit requirements and translate them into technical plans
• Mentoring and assisting other team members; customer-focused mindset
• Developer documentation writing; willingness to learn new technologies

Other expectations include: experience delivering solutions in Microsoft technologies and working across the SDLC with a focus on hands-on development and potential leadership opportunities.

Our Hiring Process

Shortlisted candidates will undertake a technical competencies interview via Microsoft Teams, followed by a second interview to explore soft skills and behaviours, and a final technical interview if required. If successful, an offer will be made.
